Displaying Panel Detail View or Panel Table View
When you select a lab result from the Lab Results Summary, either the panel Detail view or the panel Table view is displayed. Detail view is the default view, but you can easily switch back and forth between views. Once you start switching views, the view that you last used remains selected until you choose something else.
To switch between panel Detail view and panel Table view:
1. From the Lab Results Summary, tap any lab result row to display panel Detail view or the panel Table view (the view you last used is displayed).
2. To switch the view, tap the Detail or Table button , located at the top center, just below the patient heading.
The differences between the two views are described below:
Detail view displays information about the currently selected panel only; this is just one specific instance of the lab test. For example, if you select the April 12th instance of the Chem7 panel, you see information about only the April 12th lab test. At the top of Detail view, a summary of the panel is displayed (this is the same information that is shown on the Lab Results summary). Below that, the Detail view lists all of the components in the panel, along with the value and normal range for each component. If you select any component’s row, the component Graph or Lab Report screen is displayed (depending on which screen you viewed last) for that component.
Table view displays information about all occurrences of the currently selected panel. For example, if you initially select the April 12th occurrence of the Chem7 panel, you see information about the April 12th lab test, as well as information about all other Chem7 panels that the patient had. At the top of Table view, a summary of the panel that you initially selected is displayed (in our example, this would be the April 12th occurrence). This is the same information that is shown on the Lab Results summary. Below that, the Table view displays all of the panel instances in a table format, with all of the components listed vertically on the left, and the dates and times of each occurrence along the top from left to right. The table cells contain the numeric results for each component. The ability to view the other instances of the same panel, along with the specific instance in which you were originally interested, allows you to identify any trends in the clinical data. While viewing the panel table, you can scroll left and right, as well as up and down. If you select any component’s row, the component Graph or Lab Report screen is displayed (depending on which screen you viewed last) for that component.
While looking at either panel Detail or panel Table view, you can also perform these additional actions:
Order the same panel again for this patient. If the CPOE Orders module is implemented at your organization, and also enabled in your user profile, you can place a new order for this same panel, or just an individual component from a panel, by tapping the Order Again button at the top right of the screen.
Move to the panel Detail or Table view for the next panel in the patient’s Summary list. Swipe right to left.
Move to the panel Detail or Table view for the previous panel in the patient’s Summary list. Swipe left to right.
NOTE: If you are in Table view, you must tap above the table when you swipe, in order to move to the next/previous panel. If you swipe directly on the table, you will instead scroll the table columns to the left or right
View a Graph or Lab Report for a specific component. Tap on any component in either the panel Detail or panel Table view to see the Graph or Lab Report view for that component.
Go back to the Lab Results Summary. Tap Back .
